SLASPA Sponsors Jazz in the South for the 16th Year

Castries – Tuesday, April 30, 2013– The Saint Lucia Air and Sea Ports Authority (SLASPA) has teamed up once again with Labowi Promotions for Jazz in the South. SLASPA was the first sponsor of Jazz in the South and has supported the festival consistently every year since 1997, and it is once again this year elated to be associated with the festival.

At a cheque presentation ceremony, Ms. Dona Regis, Director of Marketing and Product Development indicated “SLASPA is proud to be associated with Jazz in the South, because it is a community-based project and has been an instrument to encourage economic activity and business opportunities in host communities which is part of our corporate social responsibility program. Activities such as this showcase the talents of many in the host communities and we are delighted to be part of this successful event sixteen years in a row”.

“We are excited that SLASPA has come on board this year again to support Jazz in the South. Corporate sponsors such as SLASPA provide the foundation for the production of a great show. Jazz in the South is a pan-Caribbean cultural project with the ambition to promote Caribbean music and musicians, including those residing in the diasporas of Europe and North America, by exposing their work and giving them opportunities to meet, collaborate and create which we know is in keeping with SLASPA’s corporate social responsibility.” said Yves Renard, Labowi Promotions.

Jazz in the South concerts will take place at four different venues, including a major free concert at the Rudy John Beach Park in Laborie on Wednesday 1st May, and culminate on Balenbouche Estate in Choiseul on Sunday 5th May, 2013. The lineup includes festival patron Andy Narell, Fatoumata Diawara and Laborie Steel Pan and Manmay-La Di Way
