SLASPA's Sister Port, Port of Palm Beach, Florida Visits St. Lucia

Castries – July 29, 2011, ‐ Officials from the Port of Palm Beach, Florida visited St. Lucia
from Monday July, 25 to 27, 2011 as part of a sister port agreement signed between the
Saint Lucia Air and Sea Ports Authority (SLASPA) and the Port of Palm Beach, Florida
which was signed in 2009.

The visiting team included Mr. Wayne Richards, Chairman of the Board of
Commissioners and Mr. Manny Almira, Port Director. During the two day visit, the team
met with representatives from SLASPA’s Board of Directors and Senior Management
team as well as representatives from the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and
Agriculture.

“It is my pleasure to welcome you to our Ports and our beautiful island St Lucia. We
have envisaged this day since March 2009 when for the first time in the history of our
organization a sister port agreement was signed between our selves and you the Port of
Palm Beach.

Therefore, today is definitely an important occasion. We look forward to you learning
about our organization and to the exchange of ideas and thoughts,” said Sean Matthew,
General Manger, SLASPA speaking at a joint board and Senior Management meeting
with the representatives of the Port of Palm Beach. “Specifically, we would like to focus
on technology, training opportunities, development of commercial activity and best
practices,” continued Matthew.

The group was given a tour of the Castries Seaport and found time to visit the new Our
Planet feature at La Place Carenage and was also treated to a tour to Soufriere.
