Sealliana Peter from the Port Police Division represented SLASPA at Kaiso Headquarters 5 Show and Intercommercial House Calypso Competition this year. Sealliana, stage name ‘Dark n Lovely’ sang ‘First Impression’ which was written by Sylvester “Weatherman” Biscette and Guy “Super Sweet” Joseph and arranged by Hugh Ziggy Jones, was a big hit at both events. Sealliana who has been employed with SLASPA for five years started out as a Tour Guide with La Place Carenage and is now stationed at George F. L. Charles Airport as a Port Police Constable.

This talented wife and mother of three was extremely excited when approached to represent SLASPA at the two local competitions. Having never performed live, she lit up the stage with her exuberance and excitement. Eliciting assistance from the Marketing and Research Department and Manager Jermyl Jn Baptiste, SLASPA’s Accounts Payable Supervisor her presentation was well received. The lyrics not only represented St. Lucia, but is also a great representation of The Saint Lucia Air and Sea Ports Authority (SLASPA) where she works which is the first point of entry for everyone coming into the island. Sealliana or Dark n Lovely, welcomes these passengers to the shores of our lovely island and we are pleased to share her lyrics with you.

First Impression Performed by Dark n Lovely

Verse 1
This tourist man, Came down for vacation,
He say so long he want to visit we island
First made a check while surfing the internet
Say he was convince Saint Lucia would be no regret,
With twin piton, and a drive-in volcano
He say oh, he just pack up his bag and go

Chorus
He tell me this first impression,
Could be a lasting impression
He never know life could be enjoyful so
He gone to the immigration
Begging for extension
He want to stay in we country right away
And even when he got to know
That we never have no snow,
No weapons of mass destruction
Always threatening to destroy man
Although there is crime, now taking place every time
He still say oh this country is very nice
He say oh Saint Lucia is a paradise

Verse 2
While moving around, enjoying the scenery
You wouldn’t believe, what the man say to me
He says if there’s heaven, anywhere on this earth
It’s sure to be, right here on St Lucian turf
Beautiful woman under this blazing Caribbean sun
Tell his family, he sorry but he gone

Verse 3
I stop for a moment, I thought I was lost
And I wonder why the man make such fuss
So much natural beauty he say my friend can’t you see
I will give my life to remain in this country
Lovely sandy beaches, lush green mountains and trees
Down on his knees He say baby you help me please.
