Leisure Ports in Saint Lucia

This week in Portfolio, we highlight the leisure ports in Saint Lucia in which SLASPA has jurisdiction over. We know that you have seen the bountiful stream of cruise ships that call at Saint Lucia, an inter-island ferry operates which operates from Port Castries. This connects directly with Martinique but potentially links with any of the other Eastern Caribbean destinations. The Ferry Terminal at the Port can handle around 350 passengers and is equipped with a lounge, and restaurant.

The jewels in the crown though are the island’s two world-class yacht marinas. Both Rodney Bay and Marigot Bay are official ports of entry to Saint Lucia. Having undergone significant development in recent years, both are now capable of handling some of the largest yachts available. This strategy has helped to put Saint Lucia on the map for many of the world’s VIP yacht enthusiasts and is certain to prove a wise investment in the years to come.

Both yacht marinas feature an array of retail, food and beverage outlets making them a perfect spot to visit for any traveller to the island – whether arriving by sea or road. Traffic numbers are on the increase too, both in terms of visiting yachts and spending customers.

Further adding to the dynamic, Rodney Bay, on the northern tip of Saint Lucia also hosts two premier yachting events – the annual Atlantic Rally for Cruisers in December and the bi-annual Europa Round-the-World Rally in January.

SLASPA has officers based in each of the marinas to assist with the smooth running of the facilities.
